This image is a section from my reflective notes, where I observed and made notes of my mentor teacher’s techniques when teaching. The inclusion of a Learning Intension and Success Criteria within the lesson provides the students with the up-front knowledge of what is being assessed and how to fulfil that assessment. The observation and record was made on Monday 2nd February 2015 in a Grade 1 class at Butterfly Primary School.

When the Literacy faculty runs professional development meetings about the schools new spelling test called, ‘Words their Way’, they use sections from a textbook, like this excerpt, to gain more information before administering the test to the students. This information would also assist in my understanding of the test when running the test. This document was collected on Wednesday 4th February 2015 from the textbook, ‘Words their Way’...… Owned by Butterfly Primary School.
This document supports the teacher’s lesson planning for the term. It is clearly outlined the necessary areas that the students need to focus on therefore allowing the teacher to ensure they are on the right direction. This artefact will be very useful when I teach my own class to give me support for the activities within the lessons I plan and teach. The artefact was gathered on the Friday 20th February 2015 from Butterfly Primary School.
